Karakush 3,864 m: the “Black bird” over the Tian Shan

Karakush (“Black bird”) is 3,864 m. The card calls it one of the highest summits in the Chimgan region. Of NarminTour’s four ascents this is the only 1–2 day format and the only package that includes rock gear.

Do not confuse it with one-day Bolshoy Chimgan 3,309 m: this is higher and longer.

Summary

The essentials in a minute

3,864 m, 1–2 days, 800,000 UZS per person
Gorges, green slopes, rock, open ridges; camp or overnight on the way
Transport, guide, insurance and rock-section gear included
Not included: food, water, trekking shoes and warm clothes

In detail

01

Why this is not “Chimgan plus a bit”

Chimgan is 1 day and 3,309 m. Karakush is 3,864 m and 1–2 days. The first block says “first camp or overnight on the way to the summit”. That is not a promise you always sleep out, nor that you always finish in daylight — the card leaves both options.

Compare: which mountain. Tour: Karakush.

02

How the route is described

Approach: leave Tashkent, gorges and green slopes, views of neighbouring peaks, camp or overnight.

Summit: early start, rock sections and open ridges, final climb, view of Bolshoy Chimgan, neighbouring summits and Western Tian Shan valleys, descent and return to Tashkent.

03

Gear: issued vs yours

Unlike Chimgan, Babaitag and Okhotnichiy, gear for rocky sections is included. Plus Tashkent–Chimgan–Tashkent transport, guide, insurance.

Yours: food and water, trekking shoes and warm clothes (the card says warm, not merely “for the weather”).

04

Who it is for

No difficulty grade, but rock and 1–2 days already differ from the unhurried Babaitag. A short day on a famous summit: Chimgan.

Takeaway

Conclusion

Karakush is 3,864 m, 1–2 days, 800,000 UZS, rock gear in the package; food and warm clothes are yours. Karakush.
