Uzbekistan visa in 2026: who needs one and how to enter

Russian citizens enter visa-free for tourism — confirm the current stay limit on the foreign ministry or consulate website before travel.

US citizens may stay up to 30 days visa-free for tourism from 1 January 2026. Citizens of most EU countries, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea and several others may also stay up to 30 days visa-free. Lists and conditions are updated periodically.

If your country is not on the visa-free list, apply for an e-visa on the official portal e-visa.gov.uz. Visas are typically issued for 30 days with single or double entry — check the type when applying. A single-entry e-visa costs $20 (confirm the fee on the portal).

You will need a passport scan, photo, accommodation details and payment. Official processing takes about 2 working days — sometimes faster. Use only the official portal — avoid third-party sites.

Passport validity rules depend on your nationality — always check official sources before travel. Many countries require the passport to be valid for roughly 3 months beyond your planned departure or entry date; some advise 6 months. You need a blank page for the entry stamp.

Children need their own passport. If a child travels with one parent, bring notarised consent from the other — border requirements may vary.

In hotels, registration is usually handled automatically — ask at reception. With private rentals, the landlord or guest may be responsible for registration.
